A Missouri College Combats Sexual Assault On Campus with Student-Run Organization

In 2016, the CDC reported that while attending college, about 10% of undergraduate women and 3% of men experience some kind of sexual assault. Students at Northwest Missouri State University are taking steps to fight back against sexual assault occurring on campus. It’s On Us is a student-led organization dedicated to spreading awareness and preventing campus sexual assault. The Northwest Missouri chapter president of It’s On Us said she aims to share available campus resources with students and introduce bystander training. Since the organization launched nationally in 2014, It’s On Us chapters have held over 6,000 educational programs on more than 500 college campuses across all 50 states.
