Sexual Abuse Class Action Filed by Four Current and Former Brown University Students

| Grant & Eisenhofer P.A. Civil Rights | Blog & News

Grant & Eisenhofer and co-counsel have filed a federal class action complaint alleging Brown University failed to protect them after being sexually assaulted on and off campus, despite university policies and knowledge of the transgressions.

The plaintiffs, four former and current students at the prestigious Ivy league school, are seeking to certify a class of up to 4,000 Brown survivors of sexual violence since 2018. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island and asserts that Brown “failed and continues to fail” to protect women, “creating a campus culture that ignores and even tacitly allows trauma to be inflicted on women.”
