Sexual Assault Training Program Launched at LSU to Educate Staff

| Grant & Eisenhofer P.A. Civil Rights | Blog & News

Louisiana State University launched a new program designed to train faculty and staff on how to appropriately respond to sexual assault complaints. The program is called GRACE (Gaining Resilience and Cultivating Empowerment), and aims to support LSU students and connect staff with the resources sexual assault survivors need.

The university’s push to educate staff may stem from a Title IX scandal that occurred in November 2020. A USA Today article uncovered LSU’s mishandling of sexual assault complaints and reports of sexual violence. The school’s Title IX Coordinator intends for all faculty and staff to become certified members of the GRACE program.
