Police and school administrators are looking into an alleged bullying incident that occurred at a public high school in Hidalgo, Texas. Video footage of the incident shows a student punch an autistic classmate during a history lesson in a non-special needs classroom. The video has been circulating on social media in violation of the student’s rights and privacy laws. In the video, it appears the boy was taunted and made fun of while simply sitting at his desk.
A fellow classmate stood up in defense of the victim. He pushed aside the bully and walked the victim to the nurse. “My parents always teach me to respect others and to defend kids with special needs,” said the classmate.
