Supporters Want Baker County, FL Prison Shut Down Due to Mistreatment of Detainees

Surrounding the federal courthouse in Jacksonville, Florida last month were civil rights activists vying for justice for detainees of the Baker County Detention Center. Immigrants detained in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody have been allegedly mistreated; denied access to basic human needs as well as privacy when using the restroom or changing their clothes. Supporters of the detainees are calling for the prison to be shut down due to the mistreatment, as reportedly dozens of other complaints have been lodged against the jail regarding the disturbing treatment of the detainees.
