Five Plaintiffs Join Sexual Assault Case Against Eastern Michigan University

A total of 24 individuals have joined a Title IX lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University, alleging Title IX violations related to several sexual assaults at the school. The newest plaintiffs filing in the September 2021 case include four women and one man. Plaintiffs allege that the school failed to act on multiple assaults that occurred on campus, and noted that school officials ignored reports showing a “cadre of serial rapists.” The lawsuit alleges Title IX and civil rights violations, sex discrimination, gross negligence, and other charges.
